TRICIPHER SELECTS INDUSTRY VETERAN JON BRODY TO LEAD MARKETING

Strong Authentication Leader Continues to Secure Top Talent to Manage its Rapid Growth

LOS GATOS, CA – March 19, 2007 – TriCipher, a leading provider of strong authentication solutions that protect the online channel against fraud and identity theft, today announced it has named Jon Brody as its Vice President of Marketing. Brody is a seasoned marketing executive with a proven track record creating strong brand recognition for emerging technology companies. He will be responsible for managing all TriCipher marketing initiatives, including lead generation, media and analyst relations, social media, thought leadership, events, advertising and integrated marketing communications.

"Having worked closely with Jon in the past, I am particularly delighted to welcome him to the TriCipher team and look forward to repeating our previous success," said John De Santis, TriCipher CEO and President. "Jon has an incredible instinct for identifying marketing assets and knowing when to leverage them. His ability to create and forward the right strategies, conversations and relationships will elevate TriCipher’s brand as the leading provider of strong authentication solutions that protect the online channel against fraud and theft."

Brody joins TriCipher from Symantec (Nasdaq:SYMC), where he managed positioning and message integration following its 2005 acquisition of Sygate Technologies. Prior to Symantec, Brody spent five years as Vice President of Marketing at Sygate Technologies, where he spearheaded industry-wide efforts to define the endpoint security category (now referred to as Network Access Control) and established Sygate as the undisputed thought leader in the space. Prior to Sygate, he served as Vice President of Marketing at PeerLogic, an innovator in large-scale distributed computing and enterprise application integration solutions.

"TriCipher has all the key building blocks required for successful brand development - great products, happy customers, a strong team and an expanding market opportunity," said Jon Brody, TriCipher’s newly appointed Vice President of Marketing. "The company is enjoying tremendous success and rapid growth, and I look forward to contributing to its ongoing success."

Brody’s appointment dovetails with several recent TriCipher news announcements, including:

  • Receipt of $15 million in a series C round led by RBC Technology Ventures.
  • Addition of Kevin Talbot, Managing Partner, RBC Technology Ventures to the TriCipher board of directors.
  • Delivery of authentication services to more than 1,600 financial institutions through SHAZAM, a leading provider of EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) products and services.
  • Partnership with Integralis to bring customers managed security services and authentication into a single portfolio.

With 700 percent year-over-year revenue growth between 2005 and 2006, TriCipher is positioned to capture a major share of the strong authentication market. TriCipher’s banking, financial services, and insurance customers are quickly recognizing that traditional methods for establishing online identity, such as passwords, cookies, and tokens, are easily defeated by cyber criminals. Stronger forms of authentication, such as smartcards and biometrics, however, are costly and difficult to implement. TriCipher’s patented technology minimally impacts IT resources and application infrastructures while securing the online channel against evolving threats.
