TRICIPHER FORMS STRATEGIC ALLIANCE WITH INNET TO DISTRIBUTE MARKET-LEADING AUTHENTICATION PRODUCTS IN KOREA
Network integrator positioned to meet growing demand for user authentication – which has grown from niche solution to major market requirement
SAN MATEO , Calif. — Nov. 15, 2006 — TriCipher, Inc., the leading innovator and provider of future-proof, risk-based authentication, has signed Innet Co. Ltd., one of Korea’s top network integration service providers, to distribute the TriCipher Authentication Credential System (TACS) in the booming Korean market. TACS, the first authentication system that enables companies to deploy and manage multiple types of credentials from a single infrastructure, will become part of Innet’s security-products portfolio, enabling Innet to provide a range of innovative authentication solutions to its extensive customer base of telecommunications service providers, banks, and government agencies.
Innet officials cited TACS’ flexible Authentication Ladder, unique in its ability to accommodate a wide range of multi-factor authentication options, as a critical step in its decision to partner with TriCipher. Officials noted that deployment of TACS would enable the company to offer its customers a “future-proof” authentication solution that enables its customers to quickly and easily adjust authentication policies based on changes in the business environment – for example, new regulations or emerging threats such as “Man in the Middle” or “Man in the Browser” attacks.
“As a leading network integrator, Innet has taken a commanding position in making network usage more efficient and convenient for Korean citizens,” said You-sig Kim, President & CEO of Innet. “Now, Innet is using its extensive networking and security experience to expand into the authentication market in Korea, a potentially huge, untapped market opportunity. By offering TriCipher’s first-of-its-kind multi-part credential technology as part of our security portfolio, we intend to take the lead in meeting the demand for innovative user-authentication solutions.”
Mr. Kim added that Innet networking systems incorporating TACS will provide its customers four critical components to network security: 1) integral authentication technology that virtually prevents identity theft, 2) hardened, secure storage and key management, for prevention of information leaks, 3) an integral token server solution that offers customers both security and convenience in authenticating themselves to a system, and 4) an open architecture designed to accommodate future multi-authentication devices. “TriCipher’s patented, field-proven technology will help Innet increase its competitive edge while enabling its customers to provide unprecedented levels of network security and user protection,” said Kim.
“Through top technology partnerships and a strong network-integration team, Innet has effectively penetrated companies and institutions that are on the forefront of network security in the burgeoning Korean market,” said John De Santis, CEO of TriCipher. “We’re very pleased to welcome Innet as a partner, and gratified that Innet has selected TACS as a central component in its security-solutions portfolio.”
