TriCipher Selects SafeNet Authentication
Technology
Company’s Technologies Provides Multi-Factor
Authentication with Enhanced Token Flexibility
RSA 2005 (Booth #1504), SAN FRANCISCO, CA
- February 15, 2005 -- TriCipher, Inc.,
the innovators of multi-factor strong authentication,
today announced the selection of iKey™ USB
authentication tokens from SafeNet, setting the
standard for information security. The collaboration
allows companies to flexibly deploy iKey tokens
using the TriCipher Armored Credential System™ (TACS)
infrastructure. With this announcement, companies
have additional strong authentication options from
a single infrastructure, and can more easily match
authentication strength to application risk and
migrate users to more secure authentication as
new threats arise.
“ SafeNet and TriCipher share a common goal
of making security simple to implement and use,” said
Sally Sheward, VP of Product Marketing and Business
Development at TriCipher. “The combination
of our technologies allows companies to easily add
industry-leading iKey USB authentication in response
to new threats.”
SafeNet iKey tokens offer a compact hardware solution
for authentication and digital identity management.
While offering similar functionality to a smartcard,
iKey packs two-factor authentication, encryption
key management, and digital signing functionality
into a tiny, secure package that includes an integrated
USB port to eliminate the need for a separate reader
device. The iKey FIPS 140-1, Level 2 validated hardware,
onboard key generation, key storage, ecvncryption,
and digital signing capabilities add high-assurance
security to user login, email encryption, disk encryption,
VPN authentication, and other secure client applications.
“ We are pleased to work with TriCipher to offer our industry-leading iKey
tokens as an option with the TACS system. TriCipher has created a very flexible
solution that allows corporations to provision 2-Factor to the users that need
it or to react to new attacks without having to implement new infrastructure,” said
Brad Beutlich, Director of Business Development, SafeNet. “This makes it
much easier for corporations to deploy hardware authentication technology to
protect high-risk applications and data.”
About TriCipher, Inc.
TriCipher, Inc. provides strong authentication for the real world. The first
authentication system that issues multiple types of credentials from a single
infrastructure, the TriCipher Armored Credential System™ (TACS) allows
for authentication strength to change in response to new threats without
any infrastructure changes. Our patented technology fills the gap between
authentication systems that are either not secure enough or too hard to use
and deploy. TriCipher’s innovative approach to strong multi-factor
authentication protects against phishing and eliminates dictionary attacks.
