TriCipher Armored Identity Management Announces Integration to Oracle® Access Manager
Complementary Offerings Provide Comprehensive Identity & Access Management and Strong Authentication
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Catalyst Conference, June 23, 2007 - TriCipher, Inc., a leading provider of strong credential management solutions that protect online portals, users and business process against fraud and identity theft, today announced integration of its TriCipher Armored Identity Management Solution™ to Oracle® Access Manager, a component of Oracle Identity Management. Oracle’s leading identity and access management (IAM) product protects critical IT systems and services with user authentication and authorization. When used together, the products protect user credentials in Web Access Management implementations against phishing, pharming and malware. Customers can adapt authentication strength according to each application risk without disruption.
A key component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Access Manager provides broad support for Web access management and single sign-on, providing users with seamless access to resources across networks of websites. Integrated to Oracle Access Manager, TriCipher’s Armored Identity Management® provides an extraordinary level of protection from attackers attempting to steal the user’s credentials, misappropriate valuable resources, or compromise critical business applications.

How It Works
The existing options for authentication with IdM and SSO systems such as passwords, cookies, pictures and tokens have been proven inadequate by fraudsters, while stronger forms of authentication such as traditional PKI, and Smart Cards, often don’t make business sense. TriCipher provides multifactor authentication that is as simple as userid and password yet provides protection against man-in-the-middle attacks.
The TriCipher Armored Identity Management product integrates Oracle Access Manager with The TriCipher Armored Credential System without requiring any change to customer applications or custom software changes to Oracle Access Manager.Customers can choose from a variety of authentication methods to the Oracle Access Manager. TriCipher’s zero footprint Browser Cookie and Certificate options provide mutual authentication through a custom TriCipher authentication extension. TriCipher’s ID Tool Plug-in enables strong multifactor authentication using the PC, portable device, one time password (OTP) token, smart card or biometrics as additional authentication factors. TriCipher’s ID Tool Plug-in integrates with Oracle Access Manager through the standard X.509 certificate authentication scheme available in Oracle Access Manager.
For companies in the process of moving applications into the Oracle access manager, the TriCipher Authentication Gateway (TAG) provides strong authentication to applications that are not yet migrated. Additionally the TAG is an integration hub for the entire authentication lifecycle, from activation to fraud detection, to decommissioning.
