TriCipher Appoints Kyle Austin VP of Engineering

Brings Identity-as-a-Service to Fast-Growing Need for SaaS Access Control

LOS GATOS, Calif. (June 17, 2008) — Security industry and public key infrastructure (PKI) expert Kyle Austin has been promoted to vice president of engineering at TriCipher. He has been leading the company’s development team that has brought ground breaking innovations to the market, namely single sign-on, strong authentication and identity federation technology as a service.

Austin spearheaded key new products from TriCipher since joining the company in early 2005. He brings nearly 15 years of front-line security and identity management experience to TriCipher, widely recognized for providing the industry's strongest and most flexible identity assurance and SaaS access control solutions.

He is leading development strategy and execution for TriCipher’s new flagship single-sign on (SSO) offering, myOneLogin™. This highly cost-effective software as a service (SaaS) offering solves the growing security challenge of centrally managing access control for Web-based applications – while ensuring convenience for users from any computer at any location.

Austin developed his network and security expertise in electronic commerce, compliance and digital signatures. He pioneered PKI innovations with Digital Signature Trust and Identrust, serving technology, financial services, health care and government organizations. He worked directly with President Bill Clinton to apply a digital signature to the eSign act (Senate Bill 761). Austin also designed one of the country's first commercial online banking applications for Zions Bank, with a 10-state network of more than 1,000 offices and ATMs.

"SaaS access control is the next generation of identity protection," said Austin. "Within five years, 90 percent of business applications will be online. Companies need to get ready for that with centralized, behind-the-scenes control – and still give their users the speed, freedom and convenience they expect."

TriCipher has a portfolio of 18 patents granted and another 17 patents in process for its many innovations in identity assurance, digital signing, cryptographic key generation, multi-part digital credentials and key distribution. TriCipher's technology is used by some of the leading institutions and service providers in the world to protect their Web portals from unauthorized access and identity theft.

The new service offering from TriCipher, myOneLogin, streamlines provisioning, password policies and compliance reporting, reducing phishing risks and password management without hardware or software costs. It directly integrates with the leading Web-based applications, including Salesforce.com, Google Apps and Microsoft Outlook Web Access, as well as social networking, collaboration and travel sites.
